How To Celebrate Father’s Day This Year

Are you looking for ways to make your husband’s Father’s Day the best yet? Are your kids ready to shower him with love? Here are some ways to make this year’s Father’s Day one to remember!

Consider building your Father’s Day activity around an activity your husband enjoys.
If your husband is a baseball fanatic, try scoring tickets to a local baseball game or even consider hosting your own pick-up baseball game in your back yard or a nearby park. For example, my husband loves taking our little one to the zoo, so that is how we spend every Father’s Day…checking out the animals at the zoo as a family. Spending Father’s Day doing something your husband wants to do will show him how much you care and appreciate him.

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach....
The old adage is true…so feed your husband something yummy on Father’s Day! If he loves burgers, then take a stab at grilling out. If breakfast is his favorite food, then consider making him breakfast in bed, with the kids’ help, of course! One very special thing you can do is to make your husband’s favorite dessert with the kids. It will be a special memory for both your husband and your children!

Give an unexpected gift for Father’s Day.
Yes, men do love ties and golf shirts, but this year, try to get creative! For example, if your husband has been meaning to to learn how to play the guitar, purchase some guitar lessons. If your budget is tight this year, have the kids make some “coupons” for help with chores around the house that your husband usually handles or for some “dad time” that your husband can cash in and go do something he wants to do, such as golf or a sporting event. And always include a homemade gift from the kids, such as a piece of painted pottery, a homemade picture frame or a good old fashioned greeting card made with love from your little ones!

Be sure to give credit where credit is due.
A lot of times mothers get most of the credit for raising the kids. Take some time on Father’s Day to thank your husband for all the many wonderful contributions he gives to the family and for all that he does for the kids.

There are so many wonderful ways to celebrate Father’s Day and we hope these tips will help you plan a memorable Father's Day. Happy Father’s Day from Pure and Honest Kids!
